COSW error message

A customer is seeing this error on three workstations running Comet 2004.

"cosw.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."

The message appears when Comet is started. The primary session is dead. However, she can start up the secondary session, gets the same message, pushes on and can use Comet in the remaining sessions.

Another user sees the message, apparently, in secondary sessions only. I am less clear about that.

What causes this error and how can I shoot it?
