After sorting thru this support forum, I found the answer to our Windows 2000 printing.
In the INI file I changed "HP4K-CAROL on CUPID" to the UNC format "\\CUPID\HP4K-CAROL".
After making this change, the Windows 2000 pc was able to print to the COMET printer "LW5".
