Unforunately, the error isnt consistent. Our Veritas Backup Exec runs a Comet backup job at 3AM each day. The pre-job command says "net stop cometservices". The post job command says "net start cometservices". This happens 7 days a week, and most days, the clients can launch comet without a problem when they come in. However, the past 2 weeks, we've had to reboot the server about 3 or 4 times to get it to work. Even manually stopping and restarting the services didnt help. We dont have any firewall installed, however we did recently perform the lastest Windows (2000 server) critical updates from update.microsoft.com.
