I went to the client site and recreated the problem. Comet isn't actually locking up, but instead going into super slow motion. The "RD" indicator is on in the Comet status bar, but eventually the data is retrieved and the appropriate screen is displayed. When this happened on one of the PC's tied into the server, the Comet client running on the server also went into a wait state. After killing Comet on the PC, Comet on the server freed up and behaved normally. It's as if the server isn't returning data to the Comet client, but rather getting into some kind of state where it's waiting on something. After 45 seconds to a couple of minutes, the wait state frees up. Does this sound like a network problem? Is it possible it has something to do with Comet Security - waiting on checking the dongle to make sure they have enough licenses? It is very random and happens about 2 - 3 times per day.
