Comet 98 locks up

I have a client whose main server died a couple of months ago. They replaced it with a HP server class box running Windows 2000. I copied all of their software back onto it - Comet security server 1.07, Comet 98 client 2.08. They have 2 other PC's that are networked to that box running Windows 98 and Comet 98 v 2.08. Now they are having sporadic problems with the Comet client on the PC's and the server locking up. Today a PC client locked up, they went to the main server and started Comet, logged in OK, then it locked up.
There doesn't seem to be any pattern as to what is causing this.
Any ideas?
