I took a different approach to the font settings. When I set up a user, I set fonts 0, 1 & 2 for the default printer to 17CPI, 6LPI; 17CPI, 6LPI; 10CPI, 6LPI. That makes every 132 column report print condensed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper with no program changes. If a program needs 10cpi, I'll change it to use font 2.

Don't use font 1 so I've left it at 17CPI. I'm currently adding font 11 through 20 for CPI 11 through 20 as a fast way to switch CPI. I'm thinking, but have not tested, using the Global INI to control all the fonts.

If there are still dot matrix printers on the network, I make them RAW so they'll print as they always did. For RAW printers, I use the MS Generic driver instead of the manufacturer's driver. Cuts out a lot of unnecessary overhead and I think the printer runs faster. The only printer mnemonics in the flow are the old standards (CR, LF, FF, SL=n).
