in the font you tell it to print in. If you are not telling it a font, then it will use the last font it had sent to it. I'll back
up a little - When I configure in a laser printer, I always set it up as a 'W' printer and give it a nice easy name in the printers folder making INI configuration simpler. In the INI file I configure
it three times, for example LP4 will be HPLJ4,,; LJ4 will be HPLJR,PFONTN,; and LC4 will be HPLJ4,PFONTC,; When the user is going to the printer for the first time I double check the Normal and
Compressed settings in the Printer/Font setup. I choose Courier New
(fixed width font) and use 10CPI for Normal and 17 or 20 for compressed, 6LPI for all. The end-user wants an A/R Ageing, she prints to LC4 and gets a compressed report. The end-user wants an RA Ledger, she prints to LJ4 as it is not full page. If the end-user prints to LP4, then all bets are off because the standard reports don't set fonts and there's not DES program in force. The end-user's Windows forms ( based on #CFORM ) set all fonts so they can go to any of the three printer IDs and work properly. I hope this helps. Beware of a bug in C2K5 359 where COSW.INI wound up in
two places and your edits in File/Printer/Fonts did nothing because
you're editing the one that COSP is not using. Give me a call if you
have other specific questions. Tom.
