The thin broken line denotes focus (as you would expect by your SetDlgItemFocus call). The solid line you see reperesents the "default" pushbutton). This is usually the pushbutton that last had the focus and will be the button "pressed" if the user presses Enter or double clicks in the list control. You can change the default pushbutton by calling the routine COS.SetDlgButtonStyle with cosStyle set to BS.DEFPUSHBUTTON.
