Recently I have converted two customers from Novell to Windows 2003 Server and upgraded to Comet2006 licenses. Every thing is functioning fine, but both customers indicate that they are not seeing any processing increase (ie. things take as long to batch or update as on the old hardware.) They believe this is strange in that both servers were about 7 years old and both have upgraded to the latest hardware. The servers and XP clients were sold and installed by different vendors.
My belief is that Novell was a superior networking operating system and although the new hardware is more powerfull, they are being dragged down by the Windows 2003 Server operating system.
Does anyone else have a similar experience or any ideas on anything else to check?
