Sounds like you're getting an E30 on the printer. You say you followed the instructions. Does that mean you ran CometFaxSupport.exe? Are Unidrv.dll and FaxDriver.exe in the Comet folder?
As always, it could be helpful to see your Comet.ini file and the startup details.
