My preference for installing has been to add the Domain user to the Local Admins before installing Comet Workstation. This usually gets the COSW.INI and registry set properly. Then I remove the user from the Local Admins group.

If the INI ends up wrong, you can delete the bad lines and the next time you start Comet they set themselves to the correct user/path.

I haven't tried using the "Run As" option (right click on an EXE) and supplying the Domain Admin credentials while logged in as the Domain User. Might save all the logoff/logon hassle.

Vista is going to be somewhat like this. "Power Users" will run like Domain Users until they try an install (intentional or not). Vista will warn and prompt for credentials.

Totally agree with the rest. All Comet temp stuff to the same place. PDF's go where Adobe or pdfFactory puts their folder.
