Same customer with all the 6.11 problems. They were closed over Xmas week.
12/26 - Payroll clerk comes in and runs Regular and Executive payrolls. The employee check information is copied to a QTD check register file. She was done by 10AM. At 6PM Backup Exec made a disk backup of Comet. The backup disk file was later copied and saved as the last Comet backup for 2006.
12/27 - first attempt to upgrade to CFAM and 6.11. Ended up at 6.08 and eliminated two "N" directories. Seems irrelevant to me.
01/03 - before running the final 2006 payroll reports the IT guy copied the QTD file into two history files. The final payroll reports were run (including the QTD Paycheck Report). All printed correctly and the QTD file was cleared.
01/19 - while auditing the 4th quarter, the IT guy discovered that the records for the Regular employees are missing from the history files. The Executive employee are OK. He restored the file from the 12/26 backup and the records are missing there too. We've tried FILCHEK, KEYCHECK, and KEYBUILD (records option) and can't find the missing records.
They were there on the 3rd or the QTD report wouldn't show them.
There are no backups from the 27th to the 3rd to examine.
Any thoughts from anyone would be appreciated.
