Just an update... After further investigation we found that the users were getting E99 and E9B. This generally indicates that the Comet client timed out waiting for a response from the server. This can be caused by a hardware problem that interrupts the network communication. It can also be caused by other applications that tie up the resources (virus protection software has been known to do this). In Marc's case we believe the problem is related to the size of the folder on the server that holds his customer's spool files. This folder contains well over 200,000 files. The file server log indicated that the Comet disconnects could occur after an attempt to access that folder. Sometimes it would work fine. In these cases I guess the cache saved them.
