You must specify a command line to start Comet. When starting Comet.exe you get the benefit of auto-updating your Comet executables. If you want to start Comet but without starting the Cosw client, you must start Cosc.exe instead of Comet.exe. The basic command line options (/PN, /LOG, etc.) apply to Cosc also. By using this technique you will NOT get the benefit of auto-updating, so you'll need to arrange for a different configuration.
