You may be refering to one of my earlier posts.

What my program does is allow you to "tag" pages from a PDF (usually generated from a high capacity scanner.

With our application we scan 30-35 pages mixed together, generate it as a PDF and then using my program, we "read" the PDF to find any OCR text that would match one of our account number and then display a list in a Comet window and alongside the original PDF pages. Operator just verifies the account number and/or fills in the blanks. As the operator enters the Accounts, the PDF pages "flips" automatically to match the field in the Comet screen. It is the Comet program that controls the PDF Reader pages. After all the pages have been tagged, my application will extract every single page and append it to the Account's PDF file.

We currently accomodate 30-35 pages batch because it is a good size window to have alongside the Acrobat Reader (both have to be visible side-by-side). We also restrict the output to 99 pages, but that can be changed.

Currently over 3.2 million pages have been scanned and tagged into over 770,000 accounts (108 GB!) since march 2001. All of this backed-up to CDs is over 150 CDs.

All of this is done thru a little program that we wrote that gives us access to the basic Acrobat commands using OLE.

We also use it to fill & print Acrobat Forms - The Acrobat forms is not something widely known and not well documented. It is interesting because it works with Acrobat Reader.
