Oh how much I would like XML !!
I now have an application that generates XML files with tens of thousands of records with lots of fields. Thats files with hundred of thousands of lines. Since this is a XML2Print application, I decided to use the Comet Spooler to manage the jobs. It is dreadfully slow !
It takes forever to fill the spooler and unfortunately I wrapped the line counter around a few times and can't get proper line count and have no page count.
I wrote a VisualProgram that reads the spooler and displays it nicely. It also allows me to pick a job and do a print range (obviously this program is educated as per my specific file layout). It works with multiple spools but does not touch the SpoolQueue file nor flag the files as printed. (see attached screen shots) So much more could be done with this program...
Yes! It would be really nice to have some XML capabilities.
