Like the idea of getting rid of the user cosw.ini. But I'd still have to make lots of individual tweaks to the user settings with every new user. So, how about expanding the global.ini concept. On the first comet.exe execution or during the workstation install, build the default registry settings and override them with the global settings.

I've done two single user Comet on Vista installs. One Vista Business and one Vista Home Premium. The "Docs and Settings" folder structure is gone. Cosw.ini got placed in "C:\ProgramData\Signature". There is also a "C:\Users" folder.

The UAC can be annoying when doing all the ininital setup. It can be turned off. After everything is set up and all the Vista tweaks are done then it's not much of a problem.
