Got a new client using the latest in the Comet world. Setup to use the ? capability in the COMET.INI file in the PRINTER section. Works generally very smoothly. However, because we have each department using their Laser Printer, we have established multiple Windows Printer configurations for the same printer(1-part-Landscape, 1-part-Portrait, 2-part, 3-part-Landscape, etc. The ? gives them the option of selecting the appropriate printer that should do: 1-part-Landscape, 1-part-Portrait, etc, but the ? mark option does not bring, from the Windows Printer folder the "properties info". Once the printer dialog box pops up, because of the ?, the customer has to select the "properties button" and go in and set the variables: Orientation and/or Number of copies. Sure would be nice if this info could be retreived from the Windows Printer folder/Properties area when using the ? mark feature. This works very nicely when the printers are defined to a specific LP1, or LP2, LP3, etc and you print specifically to one of these printer names. Trying to eliminate the need of establishing all the different printers(LP1, LP2, LP3, etc) for each PC. And yes, the application programs are not TEXT OUT type printing but are using the Print Line concept. Any thoughts and/or help.
