Test4 is a program we release in rel. It was written in 1986 when Qantel looked at Comet. It is a crude performance test. It writes keyed file records and then reads them back backwards. We use if for speed comparisons, usually with the parameters or 1000 records and 100 iterations. Give it a try.

BTW "cline" is also a test program written by Gary Cooper of Qantel at the same time as he wrote test4. It writes to the screen as fast as possible to test multi user screen handling.

The "standard" Comet timeout is 30 seconds. You should be able to disconnect your cable for almost 30 seconds and activity will restart automatically. When I try this test, I am seeing the problem you report with the security server. We will investigate this further and report our findings here.
