As a follow up, I have found the answer to part of my problem. Running the workstation install program (Comet2007workstation384.exe)on the server gave me the option to run Comet as a service. Rebooted the server and Comet ran as a service. The CometAsServer.ini file was created with the workstation install program.
My problem now is when Comet runs as a service the automatic update for the client does not work. Is this because Comet was started using COSC? Is there a way to get CAUpdate.exe to work with Comet running as a service?
