The encryption algorithm used for the encrypt/decrypt function is indeed a recognized standard. I am very reluctant to reveal exactly what algorithm it is for security reasons. If you supply a 32 byte "seed" to these functions, you will be implementing a 256 bit encryption scheme.
We should talk about this further (maybe off line). Could you share that VB program with me? Maybe we could do something better than we have now.
