As I recall the ",P" option on a TOTAL back in those days was used as a way to include a string field on the total line. Since a string cannot be totaled the ",P" indicated "print only". You'd get the last value the field held at the time the total was done. The Comet Reporter automatically treats string fields this way without the ",P" modifier. So, you can use string fields on the TOTAL line without doing anything special.
