Most, if not all, IP address blocks that are assigned to residential class service (DSL, cable) are usually unable to send mail directly (blocked by ISP), or on so many DNS blocklists as to make it impossible to get the mail delivered (Google for "Spamhaus" or "Spamcop" for examples, but there are hundreds more).

Try this: go to "http://www.dnsbl.info/dnsbl-database-check.php" and let it check your home IP (or the one you intend to setup a mail server on). If anything comes back red, it means any mail originating from that IP will be flagged by that blocklist as spam.
