This area of MTB is declared as the user buffer. Each foreground (background?) partition has a user partition buffer string 1024 bytes long. It's common to all partitions. Data can be passed from foreground to background via COMMON or READ/WRITE user/buffer controls. You can load it up with any alpha/numeric format of your choice. Even Comet IMAGE if you want with edit masks. I use it extensively when converting numeric edit masks to string display/print purposes.
