I have a several numeric arrays in a #CFILES definition. I need to expand the arrays from 19 to 32 entries. They're in the middle of the definition. Regardless of the Ask/Auto option, I'm not being asked and subsequent fields aren't consistently being adjusted when I try to change a filed's position.
1) "Add a field" - give the new field the correct position number but subsequent field with the same postion number didn't change and I got the "*" warning. Deleted the new field and re-added. No "*" this time. Had to close DbMgr and reopen DbMgr to get the "*" back. But the the subsequent fields didn't move.
2) "Insert space - change next fields's position by +104. Didn't seem to work. Things go into such a tangle tryng to work forward. The fields kept shuffling so when I corrected "Item 05" it would, by position fall btween "Item 06" and "Item 07". I went to the end of the list and worked backwards to get the 60+ subsequent fields back to their original location. Did notice that some fields had moved by -4 and other fields had moved by -16. Seems suspicious with the +104 I was trying to move. Maybe a truncation on a variable?
How do I get the new fields to insert into the correct position? Do I have to rewrite my old #FILES utilities?
Please hurry with new DbMgr.
