Here's a freebee for Sig. Grant, 10 years ago I attempted a radical #FILES maintenance utility and actually completed it at my own expense. It was refused because of Comet Anywhere. It was flacky. QTERM and CONSOLE worked great. Devoted 1 week each month for two years. Still use it today though I'm the only one. Based on my 504 QMOUSE demo programs created an EXCEL like utility that displays all #FILES records with arrow up/down, page up/down, First/Last options. Can click on any displayed field to edit. Records are rows, fields are columns. #FILES/#CFILES have record types. The FILE section, the LINK section, the FIELD section, etc. All displayed on one screen and field mouse clickable. Used CTMAINT to make add-on utilities like making a USE file, Hard Copy, Duplication, Print Dictionary, Auto Build Linkages, make MTB Table Lookup, Gen a simple maint using field # logic, maint program using cursor control logic, maint program using 504 mouse clicks, simple file dump listing program with headers, gen an export program, gen a browser user interface maint program and a simple file inquiry. On the EXCEL side (Field Info) used a CONTIGUOUS file. Point and click on any record field and press INSERT. Go through CONTIGUOUS and do a INSERT. +1 leaving room for the insert and define the new insert record. Reverse for DELETE. When you're done update #FILES/#CFILES with a click. At the time I was studying RAPID APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT. Thus called the utility RAP. Talking with Bryce adding the Comet acronym would result in CRAP.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
