ODBC versus MYSQL for an connection to an AS400 machine

Hi,

his anyone was able to use MYSQL with Comet to updated an AS400 file in live mode.

I am asking this question because rigth now we used the ODBC connection with Comet to read / write / delete into several database, but AS400 file is our most important ODBC application, we can not lost this options without consequence.

For what I understant, my sql is a database but ODBC is a connection to a database, we need help!
