I'm runing into printing issues with an account where I've installed Win7 64-bit PCs. I'll outline what I did to the best of my recollection and will suggest some discussion of issues where I've got a lot of confusion. The problem: End-User runs Invoice Register program and it wraps around the 8.5x11 paper in the Dell 2330 laser printer. Set Printer Font has the Dell 2330 set to Courier New font with 10cpi for Normal and 17cpi for compressed. It's as if the settings are being ignored. I inspected their Fonts folder and see that Courier New is actually a grouping now, with four Courier New fonts underneath including italic, bold, regular and one other. I tried setting Courier New Regular as the font in their COSW.INI file, no luck. My last effort was to set the Dell as the Default printer and use Default in the Printer Setup. I set Normal and Compressed in Set Printer Font and got a partial compression! All headings were on one line, equal sign separators were still wrapped, but I had progress. Adjusting CPI in Set Printer Font did nothing. Interestingly, COSP debug mode showed the Font as Courier New Regular! All other efforts of using fonts with the Dell2330 had the COSP debug show Courer New. My question & confusion is this - How does the Font Grouping and the underlying fonts interact with Comet? I don't think there's a Courier New font any more, it's Courier New Regular under the Courier New group. Next question - how does the list box in Set Printer Font get loaded, with font Groups or with underlying fonts?
