It's about LOCK

I'm thinking about coding a LOCK again. LOCK and I have not gotten along well in the past, but maybe this will be different.
The doc on LOCK, and the WiKi I might add, makes no mention of UNLOCK.

The UNLOCK words make no mention of LOCK. Curious and curiouser.

Is a LOCKed file UNLOCKed when it is closed or does the locking program have to explicitly issue an UNLOCK before EOJ? If the program fails to end normally, what is the condition of the locked file?
