In DMW, there's source for PTRFNT0.IBS, PTRFNT1.IBS, and PTRFNT2.IBS. The compile commands shows PFONTN, PFONTC, and PFONTE respectively as the OBJ.
The three source program INCLUDE PTRFNT.IBS.
In PTRFNT.IBS there a (SelectSysFont=n). N comes from the 0,1,2 source. Presumably the old source works the same. Effectively, PFONTC is selecting Font-1.
So what are the settings of Font-1 on your Comet installation. Look at File/Printer Font. In the dialog, select Font-1. It should be 17CPI and 6LPI. Those are the original default settings. Maybe yours is less that 17 and that's why your only 120 characters on a line. My hunch is that it's set to 15. 15 CPI * 8 " of printable area = 120.
