Just curious, did you happen to look at the newly created file to see if the records looked correct?
My first thought when you posted the original message is that there's an algorithm about how full to fill the key tree sectors. Could be that over time your sectors filled up when new records were inserted but adding them in key tree order doesn't pack the sectors as tightly. If you rebuilt the file in record number order it treats the file more like a sequential file and reads thru the sectors from the top down ignoring any deleted ones.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
