log files

I should know this but ... where are all the log files? What log files are there? Which ones do I use to diagnose different errors? I guess I am just looking for some documentation that will help me understand what I am looking for when a client gets errors like today - error 9/61, error 10 - winsock time out, etc.

Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
