It sounds like you're on the right track. Be sure you're running the latest Comet Server products. The one caveat to your statement that "Comet doesn't care..." is that the server products have to support the versions of Comet running on the workstations.
If you intend to run Comet on the Win 2003 server you know it will only run Comet 2004. I hope you're going to upgrade more than just the 504 workstations to Comet 2004...
As far as Terminal Services an Citrix is concerned, I can tell you that I've heard of installations using them. That's all I know about it. I suggest you post a forum question with the subject "Terminal Services and Citrix" and see if you can get advice from those who have tried it.
