Hi Joe. I would reply to him with the results that we just got from running the LAN test. They show that from three different machines we get a substantial speed gain when accessing the new server over the old server using the same network switches, cables and routers.
I would also mention the tests that you did from your office (via CometAnywhere 4 sec's TEST4 1000,10 results on the old system and 9 sec's on the new system). I know and have tested the internet connection to RW and it is a solid 30Meg down over 10 Meg up connection.
Ask if there were any particular tweaks done to the network (TCP/IP settings, stacks, etc.) that he did to achieve the speeds he is getting on his test systems. Or were the stations and server just out of the box configurations.
I really don't think there is a hardware issue here. But I will go through the performance tuning document that you sent to see if there is anything that we can tweak.
Question - is Comet based on SQL or Access? Or is it something totally different?
