Currently, all of the printers on the WAN are set up on the Windows2000 server, and phyically connected to remote print servers via tcp/ip. A single remote location's set of printers are listed and defined (via W98 parameters) in the comet.ini file at the host side. All WAN stations are currently W98, so all printers are set up as network printers available from the Windows2000 server. Each station adds the printers they need access to, retaining the same names as defined on the server. The local W98 station that is hosting CAW has the printers defined in the comet.ini file. There are many parts of our software that don't stop to ask for a printer, rather it just opens "L18", for example, to print out inventory tags at a remote location.

Seeing as the printer definition parameters in the comet.ini file are different for NT/2000/XP, how does a new XP user access the same printers with the same names, using the same CAW host configuration file?

Please provide example if possible.

Thanks.
