Your fix won't do - for two reason:

First, 

Print (#) Prog$
and 
READ (#,HSTAT)
in NOVA would yield a non-padded HPROG$ that wouldn't compare as True in 
IF ENTERLEVEL=0 AND HPROG$="NOVA    " GO 9000 ! "RAN" NOVA

Second, it would still not work if RAN from elsewhere like QTILITY or CED...


So, why do you need to check HPROG$ if ENTERLEVEL=0 ?? Of course it was RAN !!!
