Something similar. User has a Hyper-V 2016 server with a Win10 client. The Win10 runs their CometAnywhere host. A comet program runs 7/24 (24/7) looking for update transactions every two minutes. After 5PM, the interval changes to 2 hours. At midnight, the update program updates the date for all the user PC's.

Occasionally, during the night, Comet disappears with no error or residual elements in Task Manager. Once in a while, I can tie this in with Microsoft patches causing a reboot. Mostly nothing is amiss. The "stoppage" occurs both before and after midnight.
