DbMgr needs to know where the actual file is so that it can place the .d00 in the same folder. The .d00 is not a Comet file, thus it is not cataloged in a qdir. #FILES can find the file by opening it under Comet without a dir. DbMgr cannot. Therefore you must either tell it where it is by assigning the dir name in #FILES or create the file (empty is OK) so that FSTAT can find it.
