Barbara,

We did not install the latest workstation (ver .361) as suggested. However, we did a search on the user's pc for the COMETLIB.dll and checked their versions. The results were interesting.

We found two instances of the COMETLIB.dll:

C:\Documents and Settings\Annette\Local Settings\Temp\Cometlib.dll
was version 0.2.0.7 and dated 06-24-2005

C:\Windows\System32\Cometlib.dll was version 1.0.0.1 and dated 03-31-2004.

We renamed the Cometlib.dll in "System32" to Cometlib.old, and copied the "newer" COMETLIB.dll here from "Local Settings\Temp".

This apparently fixed the problem.

However, this leads us to ask the question: where is Comet supposed to look for its dlls?

The reason for the question is because on a pc that had no issue with Comet Explorer, the Cometlib.dll was also found in the two locations similar to the above. The newer dll in the "Local Settings\Temp" folder and the older dll in the "System32". Yet, on this pc, COMET managed to locate the proper dll without us having to rename or copy dlls.
