Barb,
It would appear that every record updated to that file on the 14th of May has gone. On Sunday the 13th I updated the server th W2K3 and updated Comet to all the latest at the time. There are about 13 users at one time plus a couple of CAS users. The file is my monthly debtors transaction file so it is updated from 3 sources, debtors batch update, cash receipts and journals. I don't know about journals but there is data missing from both of the other updates. Tom's description of his Novel experience sounds a plausible scenario, could this be related to Brian's CFAM problem or is it an RS HDD. I am sure they are all 'C' drives and I did check the QERRLOG but I will do it again as soon as the machine comes back up. I remotely rebooted it and it doesn't look like its going to come back up, so i will have to wait for someone to come in to work to restart it. There is a strange error message from pcAnywhere saying that it has had trouble loading drivers, but normally I just tab throughthat and it works fine. Could it be that I missed one restart at the end of all my upgrading, I can't remember how many times I had to restart on the Sunday but it was quite a few. The fact that all the data is from the one day implies I did something wrong on the Sunday, but more importantly that the HDD is probably not RS ?
