I think Barb was trying to tell you that if you have any read only files, make the comet directory folder read only as well. I have not investigated this yet, but I seem to remember in the distant past, that I coded something similar in the local file system.
As Barb said, this is open to discussion. Maybe no discussion is needed if it is easy to implement.
