If I am clear, you are saying that the only option for read only is on a read only folder, files should never carry a read only attribute unless they are in a read only folder?
This is problamatic, if you are capable of opening a read only file on a read only folder, then why not handle a read only condition on a read only file (i.e. don't open for read/write if the read only attribute is set). I would assume this would require a new error "Attempt to write on a read only file".
I tested this and read only folders do not stop a user from erasing or creating a file in a read only folder, it just prevents the user from erasing the folder.
What I am looking for is a level of protection to make my files read only so they can not be modified or erased.
