After thinking about this in the back of my head, I think I've found a better way to express my original question --
If I want faster performance from Comet, how would I obtain it? Throw more processor at it? More RAM? Faster disks? All of these have been upgraded to more/better/faster components, and Comet performs about as well as it did on a dual P3 machine.
There's a little voice in the back of my head that's starting to chant, "does not scale".
