Comet 2007 and Error 9B/61

Recently we upgraded to Comet 2007 and we started getting errors sporadically all over the system. It comes in three versions:
Error 9B & 61 Trying to run QENDITOR! -- possible handle problem
Error 11 & 61 Trying to run QENDITOR! -- possible handle problem
Error 61 & 61 Trying to run QENDITOR! -- possible handle problem

It seems to be getting worse. I've noticed some refrences to the problem but I need some advice on what direction to go.

Running Database Server 32 version 7.04 / Security 7.02
Running REL version 7.06
