If the "L" type printer is eliminated, then what is the alternative for users with printers attached locally to their workstations?

We currently used an "L" type printer named "LP1" to point to LPT1: to be used by users who have printers attached directly to their pc's.

This is especially true for users working out of their homes (using COMET Anywhere) and for users in remote offices.

If the recommended alternative is to have users use a "W" type printer to print to a local printer, this is going to be a support nightmare as this means for every user that needs a local printer configured, we need to know the Windows Printer Name that this user will be using.

And for a large organization such as ours, that means we might need to know the Windows Printer Name of 50 or more printers.
