Comet Workstation 2008 build 393. Trying to standardize CATEMP location over several client machines.
Setup COSWGLOB.INI with CATEMP pointing to "C:\Temp". Remove CATEMP setting from local COSW.INI.
Start Comet, get this during start up:
12:30:50 Checking Type-C Directory : $(CATEMP)\
12:30:50 Check Failed, error=1002.
Reversing the process (removing CATEMP from COSWGLOB and inserting into COSW) works as expected. COSWGLOB is working properly otherwise; font/printer/etc settings work properly.
IN RELATED NEWS: Setting up a new directory alias through the interface (edit -> directory aliases) wipes out the CATEMP setting in COSW. The new directory alias is saved, but CATEMP is removed completely.
EVEN MORE RELATED NEWS: The [Colors] section, when setup in COSWGLOB, appears to be completely ignored -- so you can't standardize a "color scheme" using COSWGLOB. Maybe this is by design; I've been looking at the introduction page from 2004 -- maybe there's some other docs I'm missing.
