But this was a follow up to the email conversation a few weeks ago when I reported what I was observing when I installed .395. After a bit, Jim replied that he found that if he uninstalled the comet server products, then he saw the same results (i.e. comet would not connect).

So I waited to see what would happen in .396 and I reported my observations.

As for it being a service / application...
In task manager if I have .396 installed I see a listing under the service's tab.
If I have .393 installed I see a listing under the "processes" tab. (which I was calling, perhaps incorrectly, an application)

Well now you have me thinking.... thought I had checked and had uninstalled the server products before installing .396 but will check again.
