With multi-keyed files is it possible to have a sub-key that is only the length you specify and doesn't arbitarily fill in the duplicate keys .
Ie.
Inventory file comprised of product code (6) & color (us spelling)(3). There are hundreds of colours for each product and normally that is how they have to be specified. But a list of each priduct without the colour code would be nice. So in the sub key file of "just product code" I only want one record per product code not the hundred that are there at the moment.
