Customer is running latest Comet 2008 .399, Security Server 9.04, & File Server 9.03. All workstations are Windows XP/PRO.
Recently had an IT/Hardware company inform this client that inorder to cut down on chances of being hit with malware/viruses/etc on the network workstations, the workstations need to be set with tighter WINDOWS write restrictions. Basically remove the ADMIN rights from the workstations. Well the IT/Hardware company did this without telling the customer, consequently Comet could not run certain programs that required the TMP folder. Which gets automatically set by Comet, under the C:\Documents and Settings folder.
When I remember and when I am connected to the workstation I will set the TMP folder(Directory Aliases) to C:\COMET\CaFiles\CATEMP & C:\COMET\CaFiles\CATOOLS.
I am aware, to do updates and/or installs of Comet on a workstation you must have ADMIN rights.
However, this ADMIN setting can be removed/reset after the Updates/Installs.
The question:
As we know COMET today, is the C:\Documents and Settings and/or C:\COMET folder the ONLY folders required, by Comet, to Read/Write to in normal every day process(COMETEX, COMET REPORTER, ???)
