Gerry,
You bring up a very important point. Comet requires windows access to the following folders. All other folders Comet uses are accessed via the Comet File System.
The Temp folder for the comet executables. (C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp)
The base folder for default Directory aliases. (C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp\CAFiles)
The folder for COSW.INI. (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Signature Systems)
The folder (on the server) containing the .CFG file. -- This could be read only.
The Folder (on the server) containing the Comet Executables. -- This could be read only.
As you say, from one launch to the next, these folders may become unreachable or read only to Comet. I can't think of any other folders that Comet uses.
It is possible that Comet.exe should check these folders for access problems before launching COSW, and put up a message box describing the problem.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
